Rychlomalůvky originated during a period when my days were mostly filled with the joys and demands of parenting. While my wonderful son napped, I found fleeting moments to escape into the world of creativity. Originally, I yearned to bring my visions to life through painting, but with my son needing my close presence even in sleep, traditional painting was not feasible. Instead of setting up easels and paints by the bedside, I turned to digital tools.
This pivot led me to create stories rather than just images. I have begun by writing about Morty, a guinea pig inspired by our own pet, Mort. Yet, writing alone couldn’t satisfy my urge to paint. Hence, I decided to draw Morty’s adventures digitally, creating vibrant scenes on a tablet within the small pockets of time I had. This project, born from constraint and creativity, was aptly named Rychlomalůvky.Today, rychlomaluvky.com serves as a global portal to my artwork and stories, introducing the simple yet enchanting comic book adventures of Morty the guinea pig. As you explore Morty’s world, remember that each illustration and tale springs from moments stolen from the whirlwind of daily life, a testament to creativity’s power to transcend circumstances. For those who wish to delve deeper into our stories or support our creative journey, visit tinygardenertales.com, where our tales continue and expand, connecting you with a community of readers and supporters on platforms like Patreon and Amazon.Welcome to the enchanting world of Rychlomalůvky / Tiny Gardener Tales, where imagination meets the digital canvas, creating a space for stories that inspire and delight across borders.I am happy when I can paint and create in silence.
These are the moments when I can be myself, fully embracing my strength.
As a child, in the second grade, I started attending a painting club, which entertained me for many years. I also participated in a hunting club, sang, and raised guinea pigs. As the years passed, I faced a decision about which secondary school to attend. At my family’s wish, I enrolled in a grammar school and later graduated from a faculty of science with a focus on molecular biology. With the start of grammar school, I drifted away from my dream of painting for a very long time…
Years later, I began working as a laboratory technician in pathology. This job is far removed from my dream profession of painting. Then it happened! A newe period in my life began with the birth of my son. When he was awake, he needed to be carried; when I put him down in his crib for a moment, he immediately cried. We realized that he needed our full attention and presence, even when he was sleeping. This period was very exhausting for me, and I found relief again in painting.
Painting on paper was out of the question, so I started typing a fairy tale on my phone, inspired by a painting I had made in 2020. The children’s fairy tale is inspired by our pet guinea pig Morty. Every time my son slept near me, I typed the first texts of the story. While writing, images sprang to mind, and I looked for ways to start drawing again. Eventually, I moved from paper to a tablet. I got a folio for the tablet that mimics the roughness of paper, and I got a silicone tip for the tip of the electronic pen and began drawing again.
In November 2022, the first images for the story were created, which I supplemented with simple short texts. The comic book for children began to take shape and became my daily joy. As soon as my son falls asleep, I immediately grab the digital pen and engage in an activity that brings calm and balance to my life.
Finally, I am a painter again. In this activity, I find joy and rest. Even though my son is in his toddler years and still requires our 100% attention, the images are indeed Rychlomalůvky.
Thank you for allowing me to be a painter again. Thank you for reading my story, and I hope that Rychlomalůvky and Morty’s adventures entertain and visually delight you.
